Great Basin Spadefoot Toad

A small toad, 1-2 inches, dusky green or gray with four irregular light colored stripes on the back.  Warty bump or spade on wedge-shaped hind foot.  Found in sagebrush flats and semi-desert shrublands.  Voice is a hoarse series of rapid calls, wa-wa-wa.  Vocal sac slightly rounded.
