Rough-legged Hawk
(Buteo lagopus)
These nongame birds do not nest in southeastern Utah. Concentration sites and roost trees are utilized from November through mid March.
They frequent open country at desert and submontane elevations. Their population trend is stable. Food preferences are small mammals and birds.
