Sand Cove Access

Sand Cove Access is a rough jeep trail that connects the main Babylon road from the Sand Cove trailhead to the popular Sand Cove Primitive recreation site.  It is open to travel by motorized vehicles including ATVs.  The route is unmaintained except by vehicle travel.  It is both sandy and rocky and requires a high clearance vehicle.  A 4WD vehicle is strongly recommended. Only about ½ mile long, the route drops down into a deep wash and climbs out again over rocky outcrops with a total up and down elevation change of about 160 feet.  Suitable for hikers, bikers, and equestrians, the route connects directly with the Flicker, Sandstone Mountain, and popular Arch trails.  The route lies entirely on lands administered by the BLM in the Red Cliffs NCA.
