Indigo bush
With velvety, royal bluish/purple flowers, the indigo bush deserves its other name; “desert beauty”. This thorny shrub has zig-zag branchlets, supporting alternate, feather-like leaves with 1-7 oblong leaflets. Grows to 6 feet tall on dry slopes at elevations to 3,000 feet.
