Indigo Bush (psorothamnus fremontii)
With velvety, royal bluish/purple flowers, the indigo bush deserves its other name; “desert beauty”. This thorny shrub has zigzag branches, supporting alternate, feather-like leaves with one to seven oblong leaflets. The Indigo bush grows to six feet tall on dry slopes at elevations to 3,000 feet.
