Firecracker Penstemon (penstemon eatonii)

Firecrackers are 1-2’ tall with 1” long, tubular flowers. The flowers have upper lobes that spread backward. The bases of the plant can grow to be 20” tall. The Firecracker blooms April-May and prefers to grow in rocky places 4,000-5,000 ft. in elevation.
