Arizona Toad

These toads live in the riparian (streamside) area of Confluence Park.  They are mostly nocturnal, but they can be seen in shallow pools at the water’s edge during the days of spring breeding.  The tadpoles feast on plant matter, while adult frogs catch insects and snails for food.
